GMA new shows
After a dominating performance in the ratings game last year, leading television station GMA Network has kept its stronghold of the TV ratings lead in Mega Manila for the first month of 2007.
AGB Nielsen Media Research Phil., Inc. Mega Manila Household ratings data for January 1 to 28, with Jan. 21-28 data based on overnight readings, show GMA-7 programs leading the pack with 13 of the Top 20 Weekday Primetime Programs.
GMA shows occupied the top three slots.
GMA-7’s newest primetime show Asian Treasures notched the top spot with a 37.2% rating showing, followed by Captain Barbell and the network’s primetime newscast, 24 Oras.
Kapuso programs were also preferred by viewers on weekend, as shown by GMA-7 programs getting the top four slots in the Top Weekend Primetime Programs.
Mike Enriquez’ Imbestigador is solid at the top spot with a 27.7% rating performance, followed by Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho, Pinoy Pop Superstar Year 3 and Mel and Joey.
GMA programs also figured strongly in the top primetime program by genre.
24 Oras is still Mega Manila’s preferred news source while Imbestigador continues to be the viewers’ favorite among public affairs programs.
Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho is the leading magazine program.
Michael V.’s Bitoy’s Funniest Videos remained Mega Manila’s top comedy show, while Mel and Joey is still the top-ranked talkshow.
GMA-7’s new asianovela Jumong showed a dramatic rise in viewership and is currently outdoing its counterparts from rival TV stations.
