Kyla, to sing Philippine National Anthem on Manny Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera bout

It’s final: Kyla will sing the Philippine National Anthem during the title bout of Manny ‘Pacman’ Pacquiao and Marco Antonio Barrera in Las Vegas on Oct. 6, not Ara Mina as rumored.

This was confirmed last night on 24 Oras by GMA 7 which is the exclusive official station that will telecast the fight ‘live.’

Ara is said to be the personal choice of Pacman who is starring with her in Anak ni Kumander which Pacman himself is producing for this December’s Metro Manila Filmfest. Ara has denied rumors romantically linking her to Pacman. ‘I did audition as singer of Lupang Hinirang,’ Ara, who has an album to her credit, told Funfare, ‘but I don’t know what happened.’

Like Las Vegas-based Lani Misalucha who sang the National Anthem during the first bout of Pacman and Erik Morales in L.A. (Pacman lost but won on their return bout a year later in Las Vegas), Kyla is a world-class singer who is up to the challenge of the daunting assignment bungled up by two Bautistas, newcomer Jennifer and Christian.
