“Isang Kinabukasan” album

HOW do Filipinos subvert the turn of events when all bad luck strike the most helpless of Juan dela Cruz’s race?

In 1991, the godless calamities of Mt. Pinatubo’s eruption, Ormoc flood, and landslide tragedy put much misfortune especially to those marginalized. Though unfortunate, the mishap conceived a nucleus for social action and genuine solidarity.

The rescue operations were shared by many volunteers and donors, whose efforts until now impact a social difference. Their efforts established the long-running, media-based Foundation which sustains beneficial actions for those who are less materially blessed " and so the GMA Kapuso Foundation (GMAKF) was put to life.

Among the key persons behind the foundation are Felipe Gozon, Chairman of the Board; Gilberto Duavit Jr., president; Mel Tiangco, executive vice-president & COO; Felipe Yalong, treasurer; Roberto Parel, secretary; and Manuel Dela Fuente, executive director. The foundation is responsible for socially-oriented projects ranging from health, emergency response, education, and values formation programs which, from 2003 up to the present alone, reached and aided close to 1.5 million Filipinos.

Recently, Tiangco and Dela Fuente, realized what has been a long-time dream of having a new Kapuso Foundation theme song. And so it was that with acclaimed Director Louie Ignacio, GMA Records’ Kedy Sanchez, Rikki Escudero, and Wency Cornejo, not only was a song achieved, titled, “Isang Kinabukasan,” but a music video of this new song produced and a full cd album created. The music video was, of course, directed by Ignacio and involves more than fifty well-known artists and talents, some of whom are top singing icons in the music scenery such as Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Janno Gibbs, Jaya, Jolina Magdangal, Kyla, Karylle, Jonalyn Viray, and many others. As a positive share of talent, the artists did the music video for free.

The album contains inspirational songs composed by gifted Filipinos who also have the heart to reach out and do something for the poor. Found in the album, then, are the music jewels: “My Miracle” by Raul Mitra; “Hindi Diyos Nagbabago, Tao” by Sipol; “I Will Be” by Janno Gibbs and Ogie Alcasid; “Forever Be” by Melvin Morallos; and the carrier “Isang Kinabukasan” by Wency Cornejo.

The “Isang Kinabukasan” album and music video will be launched this Sunday, October 21 in SOP. [source of news]
