Jennylyn Mercado should prioritize career
As you know, Jennylyn Mercado’s career had recently awakened from the three-month hiatus. She just filmed “Resiklo,” an entry to the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival, with Senator Bong Revilla. Oh, I would like to say thanks to Sen. Bong for having Jen as her leading lady in this film. He also invited my other talents Empress Schuck and Ella Cruz to do the project. Senator, you helped Jen in more ways you can imagine. Thank you.
Anyway, last week I saw a segment about Jen and Patrick Garcia having troubles with their relationship because of Mark Herras’ comeback" as Jen’s onscreen partner. For those who slept under a rock for a week, Mark and Jennylyn will be doing projects again; and that Patrick is rumored to be very jealous and possessive of Jen.
The truth. Yes, the couple are having arguments… some may concern Mark; but not to the point of Jen and Pat breaking up or one quitting showbiz.
On a personal level, I understand a current boyfriend’s stand on rekindling a relationship with the ex. But on a professional level, I will hold on to this cliché line: Know your priorities… this is what I constantly tell my talents.
Jen is her family’s bread winner. After her relationship with Mark ended, projects came in frequently. They were stronger and more acceptable as a pair. Shortly after the news that Jen and Pat are officially together, the network invested and experimented on pairing Jen with another leading man. However, it takes a while to build a love team… and it takes an audience to sustain a love team.
By management’s choice, Jen and Mark will be doing projects together. Some projects may include Patrick, to spice things… Again, I can not blame Pat if he feels displeased with this decision… but I feel like Jen should prioritize work.
This does not only go to Patrick but to those who supports the Jen-Pat tandem. Trust that she loves Patrick wholeheartedly; feel secure that the tenderness that Mark and Jen will show on and off screen will be out of professional demands and pure friendly concerns.
Those who love Jen: working where your passion is- is a once in a lifetime opportunity. Love is not impossible to co-exist with work, but sometimes, love must take a side step to give space for growth.
Jen’s career had just restarted after the three-month hibernation mode. This is her chance to re-establish her position as an artist… if what she can do will be limited by personal demands of a third party, her talents and her future might be put into waste. Of course, I will not let something like that happen.
Here’s some good news… Jen is currently busy filming a movie, Nars, at the same time she is preparing for her second concert at Zirkoh Timog. After two years of waiting, you’ll get to see Jen perform live again. We prepared a good line up of guest artists and moving song numbers. For reservation please call 932-8264 and look for Cecile or Mel.
Your comments and questions are very much welcome. I will save some of the feedback on next week’s issue. Until then, I’d like to know what you have to say. Please email me at stinkielilmouse @yahoo.com or rebecca_aguila1124@ yahoo.com
