Eat Bulaga: Lent drama

IT’S HOLY WEEK so “Eat Bulaga” will have its now traditional Lenten-themed drama special. But unlike the previous years when they have it from Monday to Wednesday, they will now air it only on Holy Wednesday, a Holy Week presentation entitled “Mga Anak ng Maestro”, written and directed by Bibeth Orteza who’ll also direct two episodes of Vic Sotto’s “Fulhaus”. The story is about a retired teacher, Mr. Moises (Noel Trinidad), who invites his former students from various batches to a reunion.

For this year, real estate magnate Lito (Tito Sotto) and his younger brother, I.T. expert Vicvic (Vic Sotto) and painter Joey (Joey de Leon), do not want to go. Lito and Vicvic have a personal conflict while Joey feels their teacher ignores his achievements.

The other students are: streetsmart Charlie (Jose), a caterer; Allan(Allan K), who just had a sex-change operation he spent P.5 million for; the class clown of her batch, Birubs (Ruby Rodriguez) who’s a nurse based abroad and now home for vacation, raring to see her long-time crush, the humorless Francis (Francis Magalona), now a lawyer.

Then there’s Andy (Anjo Yllana), the inveterate womanizer, who pits his two girlfriends, the former best friends Julie (Julia Clarete), and Paula (Pauleen Luna), against each other; Jaime (Jimmy Santos), who is very insecure as he didn’t really take high school formally like the others and got his diploma only through the Alternative Learning System; Waldo (Wally Bayola), the braggart who postures to live up to the fame he enjoyed as a student; and Peter (Michael V), who is a priest.

During their reunion, secrets will be revealed and emotions will run high to help them gain new insights about their teacher and about each other. Don’t miss this touching story of love, friendship, betrayal and redemption on Wednesday, 12 noon, in place of the usual “Eat Bulaga”. [source of news]
