Jennylyn Mercado fans go for Marian now

WHAT goes up must come down. You will never know how long one will stay on top.

Take the case of Jennylyn Mercado whose loveteam with Mark Herras was proven to be a strong one at the box-office. It was a loveteam hard to beat. Their names spelled big and bright at the theater marquee. As a loveteam, they commanded top billing.

Not now. In the new teleserye, Kaputol ng Isang Awit, Jennylyn has a very quick appearance in a guest role. They call it special, but for us, it is still a guest appearance. If it isn’t a demotion, we don’t know what is.

Even if Jennylyn survives her personal crisis, it would be hard to recover the popularity she used to enjoy. We doubt if her fans will remain loyal and support her through thick and thin since fans are fickle-minded too and quite possessive of their idols. We won’t be surprised if some of them transfer to Marimar’s (Marian Rivera) camp.

At any rate, Jennylyn has a promise of becoming a good actress. If GMA intends to keep her, roles that would mold her as an actress would enable her to stay longer in the acting business. The picture of an unwed and abandoned mother trying to bring up a child on her own might work to her advantage, after all.

Incidentally, we find it rather strange ( the same word Jennylyn uttered) that the mother of Patrick Garcia would provide their unborn “apo” an insurance policy and educational plan. That would take some years bago ito pakinabangan. Raising a baby certainly requires financial assistance and not insurance policies and educational plans.

Jennylyn has made a closure on the stormy issue in her last appearance on Startalk. [source of news]
