Dingdong Dantes updates

So how did Dingdong Dantes develop a body-to-die-for which now competes for attention with other billboards along major thoroughfares in the metropolis?

“I worked hard for it,” Dingdong told Funfare in a phone chat (he was calling from the poolside of Shangri-La Makati where he’s doing laps by his lonesome). “And you can see the evidence.”

It’s the same “body of evidence” (for Bench Underwear of which Dingdong is the newest endorser) said to have aroused some “moralists” into an outrage. Now, were the “moralists” so focused on the body of Dingdong that they overlooked the dozens of little bodies of street children, half-naked and burned by over-exposure to the sun, who need more looking-into than those Bench billboards? What is it about Dingdong’s anatomy that seemed to have pricked the conscience of the “moralists” more than the sight of families sleeping in carts, on sweltering-hot sidewalks and under bridges?

“I don’t see anything obscene in those pictures,” said Dingdong. “Otherwise, I wouldn’t have posed for them. Bench is a respectable and reputable company and I don’t think it would put its name at stake. I’m endorsing an underwear, so...”

It took Dingdong all of three months to prepare for those now-somewhat-controversial billboards (some of them, I heard, were replaced by Bench perhaps to appease some “righteous” sector which is negligible really). “I went on a diet of fish and vegetables, mostly steamed. Two weeks before the pictorial, I was eating six times a day but in small amounts.”

He also worked out more often than he used to, doing the treadmill and cardio-vascular exercises thrice a week. He now weighs 168 lbs. which is a bit too light for his 5’10" frame (ideal weight should be 175 lbs.) “I prepared for the Bench pictorial harder than I did for the Cosmo magazine for which I posed nude last year.”

The Bench pictorial was done in Subic from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. by celebrity photographer Ronnie Salvacion (assisted by Juan Sarte and Noel Manapat as stylist).

What you see is what you get, meaning Dingdong used no “padding” (as some people suspected). “If I did,” said Dingdong, “mahahalata. I’m true to myself, walang daya, and I’m man enough to admit that I’m proud of the result.”

A friendly piece of advice to those “disturbed” by the sight of Dingdong’s “body of evidence”: If you can’t look away, take Medicol, the other product that Dingdong is endorsing. It’s effective for headaches. [source of news]
