Manny Pacquiao, truly a philanthropic man

Newark, New Jersey. The pride of the Filipino, Manny "The Destroyer" Pacquiao visited New Jersey last 01 October to see and ask fellow kababayans in the east coast to help his foundation. He felt a need to raise funds in sustaining the needs of his countrymen and their children. . Even in the middle of his trainings and preparations for his big fight on December 6 with Oscar Dela Hoya, Pacman can still find time in pursuing his mission and his call to help other people. He’s truly a very philanthropic man.

A meet and greet was held at the Sheraton Hotel in Frontage Road in Newark International Airport, New Jersey. Manny Pacquiao was kind enough to sign posters, flyers, pictures, hats, magazines, t-shirts without any complain. He didn’t disappoint his fans for picture opportunity. Everybody had his or her share.

Bob Arum, the Top Rank man talked about Pacquiao’s foundation. Freddie Roach did his speech too, and the MGM President, Walter Halloren, as well. Ludi Hughes and Rey Alcantara read a proclamation from the governor’s office. Manny Pacquiao, Calla Lily Production, and Marisse Panlilio of MP Entertainment received the proclamation.

After the meet and greet, there was a benefit dinner to the Manny Pacquiao Foundation. Chapter 2 (Acoustic) Band provided the music. It was really a landslide. They nailed “Landslide” up to the last note. And when they threw “Africa,” the audience was humming to the beat. They did some medley and disco sounds throughout the night. Golda dela Merced powered the house with her Celine Dion’s Power of Love, and Jasmine Villegas rendered an Alicia Keys ‘No One.’

And when the Pacman took the stage, he called his buddy Lito Camo to join him. Manny and Lito were throwing some jokes and the attendees bought the jokes. Manny sang his signature song “Para Sa Iyo ang Laban Na ‘To.” Lito Camo did his thing when Manny left.

The event has been a production of Calla Lily in cooperation with MP Entertainment, and United Staffing.
