ON Saturday’s Startalk, Dr.Hayden Kho is set to reveal new developments in his topsy-turvy love affair with Dra. Vicki Belo.

Heard that the former lovers talked to PR manager Lolit Solis and whatever transpired over the phone is something that we should watch out for.

But heard that in the interview set to air for Saturday, Doc Hayden will finally say goodbye to showbiz and concentrate on his work and just be plain and simple private citizen. Do we hear some entertainment writers saying, “Good riddance.”

Marvin Agustin pina-tsugi sa KC-Richard movie

GAANO kaya katotoo ang naglabasang bali-balita na kesyo sumama ang loob ng GMA Artist center prime artist at drama prince ng GMA-7 na si Marvin Agustin nang ipalit sa kanya si Alfred Vargas sa pangalawang pelikulang pagtatambalan ng isa sa hottest loveteams sa bansa na sina KC Conception at Richard Gutierrez mula sa GMA Films.

Balitang naipangako raw ang pelikulang ito kay Marvin, kaya naman daw umasa ang magaling na aktor na makakasama sa said film, pero later on daw ay napalitan ito ni Alfred na ang nagdesisyon daw ay ang A1 director na si Joel Lamangan.

Marami tuloy ang naglalaro sa isip ng mga ma-nunulat patungkol sa pagkaka-tsugi ni Marvin mula sa original cast ng nasabing movie.

Dr. Hayden Kho may kondisyon bago mag-guest ng live

If there won’t be any change of heart, kasado na ang live guesting ni Dr. Hayden Kho sa Startalk sa opening salvo nito for 2009. Mismong ang ex-boyfriend na rin ni Dr. Vicki Belo made a promise to Lolit Solis, albeit through phone, that he would appear live.

Of course, between now and Saturday (January 3) ay marami pa ang puwedeng maganap at isa na rito ang inaasahang paglambot ng puso ni Vicki resulting in damage to property, este, in taking back Hayden to her loving (not necessarily liposuctioned) arms.

Pero may terms and conditions si Hayden in exchange for his Startalk guesting. Isang pakiusap ’yon sa program staff na sana’y pagbigyan siya sa kanyang kahilingan, kapalit ng kanyang bare-all interview.

Richard Gutierrez wants an acting award

ON television and in movies, Richard Gutierrez defies typecasting. He can’t be placed in one mold, cast in “de cajon” parts. Consider the varied roles he’s played onscreen, both big and small.

Richard was a birdman, a snakeman, a superhero, a mysterious martial arts fighter, a suicidal son, a young man haunted by a ghost, a cyborg, an international thief, a spoiled brat, a janitor -- well, the handsomest janitor this side of Hollywood. And the list is by no means complete.

He isn’t also identified with just one leading lady. The actor has been paired with the likes of Angel Locsin, Marian Rivera, Heart Evangelista and of course, KC Concepcion.

Richard and KC have started shooting When I Met You, a follow-up to their first tandem For The First Time.

When I Met You is directed by Joel Lamangan and produced by Regal and GMA Films, a romantic comedy.

Joel has directed Richard in one of the Mano Po films. It’s his first time to direct KC, but then Joel megged many of her mother’s (Sharon Cuneta) starrers for Viva.

In his upcoming soap for GMA, Richard dons a mask, rides a horse, engages in swordfight and romances lovely ladies. He plays the legendary Zorro. An environmentalist, Richard currently hosts Full Force Nature, which urges people to keep the planet clean and green.

Someday, Richard hopes to star in a hard-action movie, where he’ll get the chance to show his martial arts expertise, his derring-do.

“It will come in due time,” says Richard, who also dreams of winning an acting award, just like his dad, Eddie Gutierrez, a multi-awardee.

In the meantime, Richard is concentrating on Full Force Nature and When I Met You and preparing for Zorro.

Jon Avila at Rufa Mae Quinto sabay nawala

MAGKAHIWALAY naman naming nakapanayam sina Jon Avila at Rufa Mae Quinto sa nakaraang awards night at pareho silang napakaganda ng sinabi sa isa’t isa, kaya nagsisimula na kaming mag-isip na baka sila na nga.

Pero ayon kay Rufa Mae, hindi pa sila at ayaw naman niyang madaliin ang mga bagay-bagay dahil baka masaktan na naman daw siya.

“Basta excited ako sa puwedeng mangyari sa aming dalawa,” say ni Rufa Mae.

Sabi naman ni Jon, type niya si Rufa Mae at girlfriend material daw ito.

Sa The Buzz last Sunday, ibinuking ni Ruffa Gutierrez na baka magkasama sina Jon at Rufa Mae pagkatapos ng awards night dahil bigla raw nawala ang sexy comedienne at hindi na niya nakontak.

Parang tama ang hinala ni Ruffa dahil nang tanungin namin si Peachy that night kung magkikita sila ni Jon later, ang sagot niya ay “malamang,” pero ayaw niyang sabihin kung saan sila pupunta.

Dennis Trillo, loveless pero never babalikan si Carlene Aguilar

INAMIN ni Dennis Trillo na loveless pa rin siya hanggang ngayon.

Pero, hindi ibig sabihin daw nito na babalikan na niya si Carlene Aguilar.

Sa ngayon ay wala pa rin silang communication ni Carlene sa kabila ng ang anak nila ay nasa pa-ngangalaga ng nanay.

Regular lang siyang pumupunta sa anak nila weekly. Or mas madalas, kapag wala siyang ginagawa ay kanyang ipinapasyal ang kanilang anak. Naka-focus daw nga-yon si Dennis sa kanyang showbiz career. Bida siya sa Gagambino na top ra-ting ngayon sa primetime evening program ng GMA-7.

Ani Dennis: “Pahi-nga muna ang puso ko sa intriga. Ayoko munang ma-link kung kani-kanino. Mas gusto kong asi-kasuhin ang trabaho ko ngayon.”

Damage control for Marian?

MARIAN Rivera’s manager, Popoy Caritativo, did another round of explanation after it was written that his ward showed her unpopular attitude again in a recent stint in Davao for a gas company.

“It’s not true na nag-inarte siya doon,” Popoy explained. “Yes, there was a wheelchair that the promoter readied for her, pero hindi naman siya ang nag-request nun. Akala kasi nila talagang hindi pa siya puwedeng maglakad, so naghanda na sila.”

It was written that Marian also did not want to wear the T-shirt intended to promote the product. “Hindi po rin totoo ‘yun,” he continued. “In fact, humingi pa nga po ng apology ang may-ari ng gasoline station dahil sa mga nasulat sa ilang local newspapers doon.”He couldn’t consider though that all of these are part of a demolition job against his ward.

“Baka napag-iinitan lang talaga,” said a colleague. “Ganyan naman pag naumpisahan. Sumasakay lang siguro sila sa usapan.” Meanwhile, Popoy and his wards, including Marian, Dennis Trillo and Mart Escudero, organized a Christmas party for the entertainment press where no one went home empty handed. Some say that they did it for damage control, but for the spirit of Christmas, let’s just rejoice and enjoy it.

Hayden admits affair with Katrina

One was “positive” and the other was “negative.”

On Christmas Eve when he appeared on the GMA newscast 24 Oras, Dr. Hayden Kho admitted that — yes, indeed — he did have an affair with Katrina Halili (“positive”) but not with Rufa Mae Quinto (“negative”), the two actresses rumored to have caused his “irreparable” break-up with Dr. Vicki Belo that drove him to take an overdose of pills (brand not identified).

The break-up, reported as a “scoop” in this corner two Saturdays ago, spawned all sorts of speculations — you know, that Vicki has in her possession, among other pieces of “incriminating” evidences, a sex video of Hayden and Katrina (and, in a separate video, with Rufa Mae). Vicki is mum on the matter; she’s “speechless” for once.

In an earlier interview on Startalk, Katrina denied having an affair with Hayden or appearing in any sex video with him, adding that the ugly rumor hasn’t affected her relationship with her boyfriend Kris Lawrence (who is basking in the publicity that he would not be getting if he hadn’t been linked to the popular sexy actress) and that she and Vicki were “okay” when they saw each other at a recent gathering. “We didn’t talk about ‘it’,” said Katrina. “All we talked about was my endorsement (of The Belo Medical Group).”

During his appearance on 24 Oras, two days after he was released from the “basement” (daw) of the Makati Med), Hayden said that he and Katrina did it “for fun” and there wasn’t any “emotional” involvement between them. He also denied the rumor about the sex video.

At the same time, Hayden admitted having tried to “hurt myself” by taking an “OD” which was, according to those in the know, a “fake” suicide attempt in his desperate effort to win back the gullible Vicki who, only a few weeks ago, hied off to Paris after an “LQ” (Lovers’ Quarrel) with Hayden who promptly followed her there with a floral offering that melted her forgiving heart (blindly/madly in love kasi, eh!).

According to a Funfare DPA, when Hayden was rushed to the Makati Med, he tried to hide his identity with an iron mask that he had to remove anyway when he went through a CT scan.

Yes, it’s true, confirmed Hayden, “I wrote ‘I love Vicks’ on my tummy with a Pentel Pen. That was sincere and honest. For what do you expect a man who is dying but to tell the truth?”

Wow, dramatic, isn’t it?

Now, if Hayden did take those pills on purpose, didn’t he realize that he was putting his credibility and integrity as a doctor (pa naman siya!) in question? Oh, my God, a doctor like him, so healthy and so “blessed” (by a sugary-sweet girlfriend), wanting to kill himself while hundreds of terminally-ill people would do anything, including storm the gates of heaven, to live longer? Could you imagine what would have happened if Hayden succeeded in that futile attempt. If he took those pills “by accident,” would you as his patient feel safe and secure if he prescribed you a medicine?

Is Dr. Vicki Belo worth dying for?

Think Porsche. Think posh condo unit. Think trips abroad on business class. Think five-class hotels. Think of all the quirks millions of ordinary mortals can never imagine to experience even in two lifetimes. Ask Mo Twister, the “un-couple’s” traveling companion.

Well, Dr. Vicki Belo must really be worth dying for.

As of press time, a Funfare DPA said that Vicki has decided “with finality” to break up and break away from Hayden, ending their three-year May-September romance which was, still according to people close to them, doomed from the start.

An afterthought: Did showbiz destroy Dr. Hayden Kho?

The last word has it that Hayden might go abroad “to study” on a “scholarship grant” from, you guessed it, Dr. Vicki Belo.

(Paging Charo Santos-Concio: When will you dramatize the “Viden” affair — as in Bradgelina referring to the Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie saga, in Maalaala Mo Kaya! It will be a top-rater!).

(Postscript: A Funfare DPA said that after watching the 24 Oras, Vicki rushed to Hayden’s side to “console” him. If hysterics doesn’t work, histrionics surely does.)

MUKHANG lalo pang nadidiin si Katrina Halili nang aminin niyang nakipag-usap na siya kay Vicki Belo dahil sa tsismis na nag-karoon sila ng fling ng dating boyfriend ng doktora na si Dr. Hayden Kho.

Nag-celebrate ng first anniversary sina Mart at Jennica, pero hindi sinabi kung kailan at isang tuta ang regalo niya sa girlfriend.

Sa Pasko, ang cartoon na Lilo & Stitch, favorite ni Jennica, ang kanyang ibibigay.

Para sa kanyang sarili at kung may pera siya, Mazda 6 o kaya’y Mitsubishi Evo car ang gustong bilhin ni Mart.

Okey na ring regalo sa kanya na mapasama siya sa cast ng Ang Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang bilang kapatid ni Marian.

Ibinalita naman ni Marian na sa Cavite, sa piling ng lola at ina, siya magpa-Pasko. Tatapusin lang niya ang Parade of Stars dahil kasama siya sa mga pelikulang Desperadas 2 at Shake, Rattle & Roll X, tapos, uuwi na siya ng Cavite.

Wala pa siyang nabiling regalo para sa ka-loveteam niyang si Dingdong Dantes dahil mahirap daw itong regaluhan at wala pa rin itong regalo sa kanya.

Magku-quits yata uli ang dalawa pagdating sa regalo.

Dedma muna si Marian sa intriga at pati ang comment ng isang taga-industry na hindi pa siya big star at malayo pa siya kay Kris Aquino, magaang tinanggap.

“Okey lang sa akin ’yon, walang kaso at kung ’yun ang tingin niya sa akin, wala akog magagawa. Kris Aquino is Kris Aquino at mahirap siyang pantayan. Paghuhusayan ko na lang ang trabaho ko para kahit du’n man lang, mapuri ako,” wika ni Marian.

Marian Rivera, under fire

THERE seems to be a demolition effort against Marian Rivera these days.

Coming from the break-up issue, she is now rumored to be pregnant. And that’s what made her cry during the press conference for the movie Desperadas 2. According to her, she finds Karylle's silence on the issue quite hurting.

"Kung hindi totoo na buntis siya... bakit siya nagpapa-apekto?!," asks one writer. "Eh, 'di deadmahin na lang niya, di ba?!"

Some say that her "crying scene" was just part of her gimmick. But there are nasty talks confirming that she is indeed pregnant. As what has been circulating in the local showbiz, Karylle broke up with Dingdong Dantes after she found out that he allegedly impregnated Marian. Some issues against Marian are even nastier than this - and unprintable, at that.

Whatever Marian is facing now, she still remains busy as projects keep pouring on her way. Undoubtedly, her last movie with Dingdong "One True Love" was not a big hit as expected. And it has been predicted that this would be the start of her downfall. Of course, her detractors wait for that to happen. But Marian definitely won't make them happy.

However, it is clear that she seems to be on the "negative" side as far as the Dingdong-Karylle relationship is concerned. In fact, she is being tagged as "mang-aagaw" which she objected violently.

"Basta sa pananaw ng publiko, siya ang dahilan ng paghihiwalay nina Dingdong at Karylle. Kaya wala sa kanya ang simpatiya ng publiko. At obvious na 'tuluyan nang nanlamig ang Marian fever, " comments my friend, Bong Caramanza.

Marian seems to end the year 2008 with a heavy heart. But knowing how feisty she is, will she heat up the Marian fever anew this coming new year? Just asking.

Sa gabi ng party, kasama niya ang PA na sabi’y kanyang inaway.

Nag-thank you rin si Marian sa mga pumuri sa kanya sa Nieves episode ng Shake, Rattle & Roll X, lalo na ’yung nagsabing puwedeng full movie ang episode na ’yon, puwedeng pahabain pati ’yung love story nila ni Adonis (Pekto).

Samantala, naurong sa January 6, 2009 ang taping ng Ang Babaing Hinugot sa Aking Tadyang dahil kailangang magaling na ang kanang paa ni Marian. Malikot ang character niya sa soap, umaakyat ng mga puno at takbo nang takbo at may fight scene pa yata.

For her next movie naman, kung ’di magbabago ang casting, baka sina Dennis Trillo at Gabby Concepcion ang makasama niya at co-produced uli ito ng Regal at GMA Films.

Ariel Rivera sings again

BALLADEER Ariel Rivera, the voice behind sentimental hits like "Sana Kahit Minsan," "Minsan Lang Kitang Iibigin," "Simple Lang," "Ayoko Na Sana," and "Sa Aking Puso", comes out with a new Sony-BMG album, "Once Again," which brings him back to his first love, singing.

Ariel was sidetracked from recording after being busy with acting in numerous tele-novelas on GMA 7. Yet, his musical artistry has not abated. Tucked under his belt are multi-platinum albums and hits and to date, Ariel remains to be one of the most sought-after and well-respected male singers in the country.

Desperadas 2, a better version

KUDOS to writer Roy Iglesias and Director Joel Lamangan as they succeed in making "Desperadas 2" better and truly funnier than the first one. To begin with, the characters are more involving in the sequel that starts with a well-edited prologue giving brief flashbacks of what happened to the four half sisters (Ruffa Gutierrez, Rufa Mae Quinto, Iza Calzado and Marian Rivera) in the original.

Now, Ruffa as Isabelle is no longer much of a spoiled brat, in better terms with her sisters, and is now living with her boyfriend, Jay R. Rufa Mae as Patricia, the sexologist, has separated for good from her gay husband, Wendell Ramos, who now wants to have a sex change operation. She also finds new romance in a super rich congressman, Christian Vasquez.

The previously childlike Iza as Stephanie is now finally a mother but suffers from an acute case of post partum blues that makes her suspect that her doctor husband, TJ Trinidad, is having an affair with his nurse, Nina Jose. Marian as Courtney is now married to her boyfriend, Will Devaughn, but she becomes even busier as a designer that she neglects her wifely duties, prompting Will to leave her alone so she can have more space for herself.

The problems of each of the sisters are compounded by the arrival of a new half sister, Lugaluda Lugalu (Ogie Alcasid in a female role), daughter of their mom (Nova Villa) with the king of a small island called Kuelani. The sisters first treat Lugaluda with condescencion but she does each of them a good turn that makes them eventually embrace her wholeheartedly as a real sister.

Ogie as a woman has the most colorful role here in the sequel. She arrives during a private gathering fully garbed in their nation's costume and doing a ribtickling ethnic dance. It's a hilarious scene-stealing role indeed for Ogie and he does it quite effortlessly, going into town with an all stops are pulled kind of performance.

In fairness to his four sisters, they each have their own highlights. Ruffa has really evolved to be a fine comedian and her scenes with her precociously perceptive daughter, played to the hilt by Sophia Baars, are all funny. Rufa Mae makes the most of her breakdown scene when she discovers that her lover is a jueteng protector who's using her in his illegal activities.

Iza is laugh out loud hilarious in the scene where she suspects TJ and Nina are making love but discovers that it's only her randy yaya who's having a tryst with her "bagets" boylet. She later confronts TJ and Nina on the stairway showing them she's been training as a martial arts fighter. Marian, in turn, has an action scene with her stalker (Alex Cortez) who tries to kidnap her. Among the guys, it's Wendell Ramos who shines as Rufa Mae's gay husband who cross-dresses in the final scene and finds a new boyfriend in Starstruck discovery Paolo Avelino. It's not only the actresses who serve as eye candy but also Jay-R and Will Devaughn who have their own disrobing scenes, particularly when they go to Wendell's spa to take a dip in the jacuzzi au naturel without knowing he's gay.

Director Lamangan deserves a pat on the back for guiding all his actors well and for his well chosen locations. Definitely, "Desperadas 2" is an improvement over the first one.

Expected na ang kanyang pagdi-deny. Walang babae na aamin na third party sila sa isang masayang relasyon.

Masisira ang career ni Katrina kung aamin siya. Hindi maganda ang magkaroon ng image na wrecker.

Ang sey ni Katrina, nag-usap na sila ni Mama Vicki pero hindi niya ikinuwento ang kanilang mga napag-usapan. Lalo akong naintriga. Nagkaroon ba ng sumba­tan o parang eksena sa pelikula ang nangyari as in kalmante sila na nag-usap? May nag-dialogue kaya ng “Una siyang naging akin?”

GMA 7 gets 25 trophies in 22nd Star Awards For TV

GMA Network reaffirms its status as the country’s leading TV network as it bagged a total of 25 trophies including Best Station in the recently held 22nd Philippine Movie Press Club Star Awards for TV 2008.

Kapuso stars and programs also bagged numerous awards. GMA was a runaway winner in the comedy category after bagging three major awards. Ful Haus, topbilled by Vic Sotto and Pia Guanio, took home the Best Comedy Show award while Bubble Gang mainstays Ogie Alcasid and Rufa Mae Quinto received the Best Comedy Actor and Best Comedy Actress trophies, respectively. Incidentally, Rufa Mae also won as the Female Star of the Night.

Eat, Bulaga! shared the award for Best Variety Show with its counterpart in the other station, while Vic was voted Best Male TV Host. S.O.P. will continue to rule and pump up the viewers’ Sunday afternoons as it got the Best Musical Variety award. Boys Nxt Door snatched the Best Youth Oriented Program award while Kylie Padilla was recognized as the Best New Female Personality for her stupendous performance as the warrior girl in Joaquin Bordado.

Sunshine Dizon proves her true mettle in acting as she was named Best Drama Actress for her remarkable performance in Impostora. Meanwhile, Sine Novela Presents Kaputol ng Isang Awit emerged victorious in the Best Daytime Drama Series category.

GMA 7’s News and Public Affairs also bagged several awards. Long-time running late night Monday program I-Witness: The GMA Documentaries won the Best Documentary Program award while its hosts Kara David, Howie Severino, Sandra Aguinaldo and Jay Taruc bagged the Best Documentary Program Host award. Signos: Ang Banta ng Nagbabagong Klima was named Best Documentary Special while Pinoy Meets World won the Best Travel Show award.

Paolo Bediones to show other side

PAOLO Bediones recently hosted his first ever Christmas party for the showbiz press in celebration of his tenth year anniversary in show business and as a certified GMA-7 talent. The handsome and witty host of the top rating reality program Survivor Philippines looked happy and triumphant all throughout the event. He admitted that he was holding back his tears while the VTR was playing that took a glimpse to the evolution of his hosting career.

“I’m very blessed having reached ten years in this very competitive field. I thought it’s apt to celebrate it at this point when Survivor Philippines is registering high marks in the ratings game. I consider it as my grandest show as a Kapuso,” Paolo beamed

Among his former co-hosts who gave touching messages in the VTR are: Miriam Quiambao, Lyn Ching, Regine Tolentino, Ethel Booba, Mariel Rodriguez, Phoemela Barranda, Rufa Mae Quinto and his good friend Ryan Agoncillo.

They both don't want to talk about the reasons of their splitup. "Para huwag na lang madamay pa ang iba," someone tells us.

But another source said Dr. Vicki confronted Katrina Halili recently if it's true she had a fling with Hayden. She says she trusted Katrina because she did all that has to be done on her face and body for free. And betrayal is what she gets in return? Dr. Vicki presented some incontrovertible evidence that a friend supplied to her to prove Hayden and Katrina are playing with fire without her knowledge.

"Talagang sobrang nasaktan si Dr. Vicki doon," adds an informer who refuses to be named. "Kasi in a way, kasalanan din niya dahil ginawa pa niyang magkasama 'yung dalawa sa endorsement ng Belo Medical na parehong hubad. One mutual friend of theirs who feels so sad about the separation is DJ Mo Twister, who was with them when they traveled to South Africa and to the U.S., even acting as their official photographer. He saw how sweet they were to each other and never thought their relationship would end soon after those trips the expenses of which Dr. Vicki shouldered for all of them.

Inalis na ang cast ng kanang paa ni Marian Rivera, 5 p.m. kahapon, kaya sa pagdalo nito sa presscon ng Shake, Rattle & Roll X at kung may presscon pa ang Desperadas 2, wala na siyang cast at normal na ang paglalakad.

Maayos na rin ang pakiramdam nito after maging “Crying Lady” sa presscon ng Desperadas 2 at kahapon, gaya ng nasulat namin, nag-perform pa siya sa Christmas party sa U.S. Embassy.

Tapos, umuwi ito sa Cavite para makasalo sa dinner ang ina at lola niya, tapos dumiretso sa dubbing ng Nieves episode ng SR&RX dahil may naiwan pang ilang eksena.

Tuloy pa rin ang plano nitong sasakay siya sa karosa ng Desperadas 2 at SR&RX para walang magtampo.

Ang una, ’yung pagtataray ni Ruffa Gutierrez sa isang beteranang reporter na muling naungkat, pero tinawanan na lang ng actress.

Ang pag-iyak nga ni Marian sa isyung buntis siya at si Dingdong Dantes ang ama.

Ang pag-amin ni Iza Calzado na hiwalay na sila ng non-showbiz boyfriend niyang si Gerry Garcia.

Tinanong namin si Iza kung ano ba talaga ang dahilan ng breakup nila?

“Puwede po bang ibalato n’yo na lang sa akin ’yan? Pagdating po kasi sa personal life, ayokong magsalita. Hayaan n’yo, ’pag handa na ’ko, sasabihin ko rin sa inyo ang dahilan ng paghihiwalay namin,” esplika ni Iza.

“Two years ago pa ang huli kong pagpunta sa Pilipinas. Miss ko ang bayan natin kasi Pinoy naman ako talaga. Pero, sa Christmas na ito ay pupunta ang pamilya na-ming sa Zamboaga City. Kasi, dito ang probinsiya ng mommy ko. Ang father ko naman ay sa Pulilan, Bulacan,” kuwento ni Ramielle.

“Dahil sa father ko kaya ako naging singer. Talagang na-pursue niya ang talent kong ito. Bukod pa rito, istrikto siya sa amin sa bahay na dapat kami ay magsasalita ng Tagalog. Kaya marunong ako at hindi slang ang Tagalog ko.”

Sa ngayon, exclusive si Ramiele sa GMA-7 guestings. Kasi, partner ang GMA-7 ng concert ni Ogie.

Tribute to the late Marky Cielo

"SHOWBIZ Central" gave a touching tribute to the late Marky Cielo last Sunday. GMA showbiz reporter Lhar Santiago was shown interviewing Marky's mom, Mildred Cadaweng, live at Mountain Province.

His mom praised Marky's selfless love for the family and thanked all those who condoled with them and helped them during the entire wake. She says she will be staying in their home there (where Marky is laid to rest in their garden) until after Christmas and they will finish the nine-day novena for him.

The former classmates and teachers of Marky in Baguio were also interviewed and they all shared their fondest memories of the late actor. They all say that they admire him for announcing to the whole world that he is proud to be an Igorot. There was also an interview with his father who's separated from his mom and who's from Butuan City, where Marky grew up. Marky looked like his dad, who said he loves his late son very much and feels bad that they didn't get to see each other again before he passed away.

'Showbiz Central' also paid homage to the late singer Didith Reyes who antedated other jukebox queens like Imelda Papin, Eva Eugenio and Claire de la Fuente in the 70's. It was Claire who took care of the funeral services for Didith whose wake was held at Mt. Carmel Church in Broadway St.

Sen. Jinggoy Estrada took the hot seat and faced the Central Jury. He, too, paid homage to his late friend, Rudy Fernandez, whose tragic experience in his fight with the big C became the inspiration in Jinggoy's new movie, "Magkaibigan", an entry in the Metro Manila Filmfest.

Going back to Marky, he might be gone but you will still see him in "La Lola" until January 10, as he had advanced taping many episodes for the show. It's been decided to show his character, Billy, in the hit GMA Telebabad show also passing away. Mark as Billy is shown figuring in an accident in one episode and he'd go into coma until he passes away.

Hindi ako buntis! -- Marian Rivera

Masayang nagsimula ang presscon ng Desperadas 2 kahapon sa Imperial Palace Suites, pero malungkot at kontrobersyal itong nagtapos sa pamamagitan ng pag-iyak ni Marian Rivera, isa sa mga bida ng pelikula, habang sinasagot ang issue na diumano’y buntis siya kay Dingdong Dantes.

Marian was asked once and for all to clarify kung totoo bang buntis siya at dito na nagsimula ang “highlight” ng presscon.

“Ano ang gusto n’yong isagot ko riyan, daanin ko rin sa smile para kontrobersyal ako?” simulang sagot ni Marian na umani agad ng atensyon simply because everybody knows na si Karylle ang kanyang pinapatutsadahan.

Last Sunday kasi, tinanong si Karylle sa The Buzz kung naniniwala siyang buntis si Marian at ngiti lang ang naisagot ng young singer-actress.

“Hindi ako buntis, okay?” mariin, pero dahan-dahang bigkas ni Marian na mala-Nora Aunor ang dating.

“Napakaraming blessings na dumarating sa buhay ko at hindi ko hahayaang mangyari ’yan sa buhay ko. Masyado pang maaga para mangyari ’yan at hindi na ako bata at lalong hindi ako tanga para magpabaya ako,” patuloy pa niya.

She was asked kung ano ang naramdaman niya nang dumating sa kanya ang naging reaksyon ni Karylle sa The Buzz.

“Nung lumabas ’yan, ’yung mga malapit sa buhay ko, tumawag din. Okay lang ’yung mga sagot niya sa iba, ang problema lang, ’yung huling sagot,” Marian said as she started crying.

“Para sa akin kasi, may malisya. Puwede namang sumagot siya na ‘hindi ko alam’ dahil kung ako ang tatanungin kung may babae na nabuntis o kung anuman, sasagutin ko na ‘hindi ko alam’ o ‘wala ako sa posisyon para sagutin ‘yan.’

“Pero ngumiti lang siya (Karylle) na parang nambibitin siya. Aaminin ko sa inyo, na-offend ako,” humahagulgol pa ring sabi ni Marian.

“Nasaktan po ako. Na-offend ako, kasi puwede naman siyang sumagot na hindi, eh, bakit kailangang ’yun ang sabihin niya?

“Kung ’yun ’yung way para pag-usapan siya, pabayaan ko na lang po siya. Kung du’n po ang ikaliligaya nila, na manapak sila ng tao, na manakit sila ng damdamin, bahala na ang Diyos sa kanila.

“Basta ako, ayoko nang magsalita. Basta ang masasabi ko sa inyo, hindi ako buntis. At if ever man na buntis ako, ako mismo, sasabihin ko ’yon sa inyo.

“Pasensiya na po kayo, ayoko na pong magsalita dahil nakakahiya po sa mga kasama ko rito. Imbes na Desperadas ang pag-usapan, ito po ’yung pinag-uusapan.

“’Yun lang po, na-offend po ako, nasaktan po ako. Thank you po,” very emotional at umiiyak pa ring pahayag ni Marian.

Hanggang sa matapos ang kanyang statement, hindi pa rin mapigilan ang pag-iyak ni Marian kaya naman pati si Mother Lily Monteverde (producer ng Desperadas 2), lumapit na sa kanya sa presidential table at inalu-alo siya.

Natahimik naman ang lahat ng female co-stars niya na sina Ruffa Gutierrez, Iza Calzado at Rufa Mae Quinto, pati na ang iba pang nasa presidential table habang nagkakagulo naman ang press at photographers sa harapan para makunan ang pag-iyak ni Marian.

Hindi na rin nagsalita pa ang young actress para sa parting shot at nang matapos na ang presscon, nagmamadali siyang umalis dahil may commitment pa raw.

For sure, lalaki pa ang isyung ito, kaya abangan na lang natin ang mga susunod na mangyayari sa Karylle versus Marian issue.

(Actually, sinubukang kunan ng reaction ng Tonight si Karylle pagkatapos ng Desperadas 2 presscon kahapon via phone, pero aniya, nakapangako na siya sa isang TV host-broadsheet editor na hindi magpapa-interview sa iba.

Sa Davao, sa opening ng Phoenix gas station, ang buntis issue na ang itinanong kay Marian na ikinagulat nito’t ’di alam na natsitsismis siyang buntis, bagay na itinanggi sa presscon dahil siya raw mismo ang mag-a-announce kung buntis siya.

Nakausap namin si Popoy Caritativo, manager ni Marian at heto ang kanyang pahayag: “Ang bilin ko sa kanya, ’wag mang-aaway, pero siya naman ang inaaway. ’Di siya nagalit sa reaction ni Karylle, pero nasaktan dahil bakit naman ganu’n?”

Tinanong si Ruffa Gutierrez kung offensive ba talaga ang smile ni Karylle nang tanungin tungkol du’n sa The Buzz?

Walang mai-comment ang TV host-actress kung tama ba ang ngiti ni Karylle dahil hindi niya napanood ang interview nito at kailangan niyang panoorin muna at tinanong ang press kung anong smile ang ginawa nito.

Nalungkot naman si Iza Calzado sa ending ng presscon dahil masaya nag-umpisa at natapos sa pag-iyak ni Marian at biglang pag-alis.

Samantala, bukas, December 17, aalisin na ang cast ng kanang paa ni Marian, pero hindi siya puwedeng mag-heels for one month.

Is it true that Marian Rivera is pregnant? As in buntis ba si Marian Rivera?! That is what the buzz is in the four corners of Philippine Showbiz. The alleged father is none other than Marian’s leading man Dingdong Dantes. Could this be the reason why Karylle and Dingdong Dantes broke up?

In yesterday’s The Buzz, Karylle sat down for the Tough Ten segment wherein guests are subjected to ten controversial questions that they must answer impromptu. The toughest question went something to this effect, “Naniniwala ka bang buntis si Marian Rivera and the father is Dingdong Dantes?,” to which Karylle answered with a blank but meaningful stare. No answer came out from Karylle but action speaks louder than words. She could have answered an outright no, but she choose not to confirm nor deny or even react to it. After all, when asked with earlier tough questions, she answered elaborately and at the same time eloquently. Again, Karylle could have said it was not her business or something along that line but she “answered” blankly but meaningfully!

And knowing Philippine Showbiz, pregnancy rumors cannot be answered by saying one should wait for nine months after for proof. There’s just one too many ways to even avoid such an evidence. We may never know the real score about this, all we know is that the truth is out there.

Carmina clarifies status with Zoren

CARMINA Villaroel gets a grand launching as Bioderm germicidal soap's endorser along with her twins Mavy and Cassy. In the Q&A, Carmina was asked when will she and Zoren Legaspi tie the knot? "Akala n'yo lang, hindi pa, pero nangyari na," she replies.

This is quite a revelation so we asked her to give more details later. Was it a civil or church wedding? "Actually, hindi pa kami talaga kinakasal," she says. "Sinabi ko lang 'yun para matigil na ang katatanong. Kasi, iniisip namin, okay naman kami as of now. Although, siyempre, iba pa rin 'yung may blessing ni Lord. Kaya lang, hindi Catholic si Zoren, Christian siya, kaya hindi rin kami puwede sa church wedding. As it is, I'm just thankful na the Lord blesses us pa rin. We're really a happy family. The twins are now 7, turning 8 in January. They're in grade 2 at a school near our place. Legaspi ang ginagamit nilang apelyido."

Are they willing to allow the twins to act on TV or films? "They were four when they were first offered to do a commercial. We asked them at gusto rin nila. We don't force them. They enjoyed it kasi magkakasama kaming buong pamilya. Zoren is also with us to keep them company at ngayon nga, kasama na rin siya sa ibang commercials. Natutuwa rin sila when they see their commercials on TV. But honestly, we don't want to expose them so much sa showbiz. 'Yung pag-aartista, huwag na muna. Magtapos muna sila ng studies then kung gusto nila talaga, bahala na sila. As of now, kailangang okay rin ang ini-endorse nila, like Bioderm soap na talagang panlaban sa germs ng buong family."

And why did Biodern choose Carmina as endorser? "We considered a lot of names," says marketing VP Stanley Wang. "Credibility is very important and we chose Carmina as she has really a happy family. She leads a busy life as a working mom but very careful in choosing products for her family's health. In other words, palaban siya, just like Biodern which is palaban sa germs."

JC Tiuseco, Pinoy Sole Survivor winner update

Marami sa mga kaibigan kong bading ang halos mamatay sa selos sa presen­ce ng girlfriend ni JC Tiuseco nung gabing iproklama ito bilang Pinoy Sole Survivor na ginanap sa isa sa mga istudyo ng bagong tayong GMA Network Center.

Nauna nang nagselos ang mga bading nang imbitahan ang kanyang nobya ng GMA 7 para tulungan si JC sa isa sa mga challenges niya sa Survivor Philippines. Habang ang mga kalaban niya ay tinulungan ng isang miyembro ng pamilya nila, tanging si JC ang may nakasamang magiging miyembro pa lamang ng pamilya niya. Si JC din ang nakakuha ng boto ng bayan, 97% kontra sa 7% boto na nakuha ni Rob.

Carmina Villaroel at Zoren Legaspi, kasal na?

Kasal na pala sina Carmina Villaroel at Zoren Legaspi. Wala nga lang detalye na ibinigay ang aktres - kung saan at kung paano sila nagpakasal after ng ilang taong paghihintay. “Akala n’yo lang, hindi pa.Tapos na,” sabi ng actress nang tanungin siya tungkol sa isyu ng pagpapakasal nila ng aktor na ama ng kanyang kambal sa launching kahapon ng Bioderm soap. (Kasama sa nasabing commercial ang kambal na sina Mavy at Cassy.) Pero definitely Christian wedding daw ang naganap.

Sayang at hindi kasama ni Carmina ang kambal sa presscon dahil aware naman pala ang dalawang bagets na kumikita sila ng datung sa mga ginagawa nilang commercial. Pero hanggang commercial lang ang puwedeng gawin ng kambal at hindi muna ito puwedeng mag-apir sa mga TV shows.

Anyway, matagal na ring maraming naiinip sa pagpapakasal nila. At least ngayon makukuntento na ang marami.

Nagkaroon ng chance noon na nag-concentrate si Zoren sa pagiging pastor sa Ang Dating Daan pero ngayon ay may sarili na rin siyang commecial kasama rin ang kambal.

Nakakatuwa rin ang nangyari sa career ni Carmina dahil kung kailan siya nagkaanak, saka mas naging bongga ang career niya.

Christmas is the best season for Jay-R

Jay-R believes in Christmas and enjoys its cheer and trimmings. At this time of the year, he cannot afford to be a Scrooge or a Grinch.

Jay-R celebrates the joyous season with an album, released by his own label Homeworkz Records, titled Holiday of Love.

“It is fulfilling,” says the R&B singer of the happiness the Christmas album brings him. “I get to do my own music. I have control over everything (from the content to the arrangement). I put my heart into it. It gives me a different high once it is done.”

With Jay-R’s passion for music and anticipation of Christmastime, Holiday of Love describes what Christmas is to the singer-actor. It gives listeners musical feast during get-togethers, exchanging of gifts and noche buena. The repackaged album contains of 14 tunes, devoid of instrumentals. The real deal on Holiday of Love, however, is the repertoire which consists of Jay-R’s “traditional and personal favorites.”

He describes the merry season in O, Holy Night and Do You See What I See? and gives its true meaning in Give Love On Christmas Day. The listener will also be treated to new original songs in Tito Reny which Jay-R wrote himself, and Spread the Love, a collaboration with his sister Jhing. They show his vulnerable side.

Other songs that will put one in a Holiday mood are White Christmas, Sleigh Ride, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, Intro (O Christmas Tree), Winter Wonderland, The Christmas Song, This Christmas, Santa Baby and The Little Drummer Boy.

How is Holiday of Love different from his previous album Christmas Away from Home? Jay-R does a cappella in O, Holy Night. Then he provides a jazzy and signature R&B touch in every ditty. Expect interesting sounds to each Christmas carol.

The album has the dominating sounds of guitar, bass, drums and keyboards. Making the album extra special are the vocals of Amber Davis, Kris Lawrence and Jay-R’s sister Jhing.

“I have always liked Christmas the most from all the holidays,” shares Jay-R on the album’s notes. “I remember as a child I always managed to get everyone in my family a gift although I didn’t have much money. It’s amazing what you can do when you are inspired by your loved ones. I remember hearing Christmas songs in the middle of September and already getting that warm and cozy feeling inside. It would give me that holiday spirit and I would like to get excited because I knew Christmas was just around the corner.”

That’s what Jay-R wants to share with everyone come Dec. 25 and in the days leading to it.

To share his blessings, Jay-R will donate a portion from the album’s proceeds to GMA Kapuso Foundation.

If there’s a message Jay-R wishes everyone to ponder upon, it is “to be kind, to give and to love another.” He hopes to accomplish all these through the album.

JC de Vera mas masaya kay Rhian

Nagkita-kita sina JC de Vera, Rhian Ramos at Yasmien Kurdi sa unang gabi ng burol ni Marky Cielo, pero hindi sila nag-usap at para ngang hindi magkakilala sa pag-iisnaban. Nang usisain namin ang actor sa dating ka-love team, ang sabi’y “hayaan na lang natin si ano. No issue raw kami, ‘di wala.” Sagot ito ng actor sa “that person” na tukoy sa kanya ni Yasmien. Ang bigat pa ng sinabi ni JC na ‘di sila nagpunta sa burol para sa ibang tao, kundi para kay Marky at hindi rin ‘yun right place para mag-usap sila ni Yasmien.

Dagdag pa ni JC, masaya siya ngayon na si Rhian ang kasama sa La Lola at nagkaroon ng chance na makapareha si Roxanne Guinoo sa Emergency episode ng Shake, Rattle & Roll X. Komportable raw siyang ka-trabaho ang dalawa at nagulat siya dahil mabilis silang nagka-vibes ni Roxanne, considering na first time nilang nagsama.

Marky Cielo: Tay, sorry. Hindi ako survivor

Binangungot ba talaga o nagbigti?

Actually, palaisipan din sa amin ang pagkamatay ni Marky Cielo. May nagkuwento sa amin na diumano’y “nagbigti” si Marky, dahil hindi na raw nito kayang solusyunan ang matinding problema.

Ni hindi raw nito naikuwento sa ina ang matinding problema, bagkus, inamin lang daw ni Mark sa ina na meron siyang matinding problema.

At ang madir, pinayuhan ang anak na matapang na harapin ang problema, lalo pa’t lalaki siya.

Pagkatapos mag-almusal, nagtungo umano sa kanyang kuwarto si Marky. After an hour, pag-check ng ina, nakahandusay na ang walang buhay na katawan ni Marky.

Meron pa umanong text message si Marky sa kanyang cellphone na hindi niya nai-send agad at ito’y nasa “draft folder.”

’Yun daw ay para sa tumatayong manager na si Rommel Gacho. Ito raw more or less ang nilalaman ng mensahe: “’Tay, sorry. Hindi ako survivor.”

How Paolo Bediones survived 10 years of showbiz

One of the most frequent questions people ask of Paolo Bediones these days is “When are you and Abby (Cruz) getting married?”.

Paolo’s answer is quick and well-thought-out: “I’m not getting any younger and I know that’s the next stop. But I’m afraid it’s not yet the right time. When I get married, I want to have kids right away. But the situation these days is so scary I fear for the future of my child.”

And so he prays, the way he has been doing since that red-letter day of June 24, 2007, when he turned Christian, thanks to Abby. It was Abby, a practicing Christian all her life, who brought a hesitant Paolo to a fellowship. At first, Paolo did it to please his girlfriend. After all, he thought all that chanting and arm waving seemed strange. But lo and behold – Paolo found himself joining in soon after.

Not just that. He even auditioned for the music ministry. Today, Paolo has turned a hobby into a regular church activity. He plays keyboards every Sunday at the Victory Fellowship services at the Fort.

The change of heart is not just lip service for Paolo. You see it in the way he speaks and lives each day.

At a press party to mark his 10th anniversary in showbiz, the Survivor host gave away a bonanza or prizes for the press. Paolo himself spent for the household appliances, celfones and others he generously gave away that day.

“I’ve had a turnaround in how I view things,” he admits. “I believe that everything we have comes from God. Thus, it’s but proper for us to give and share our blessings. Those who stay long in this business are those who give back. This, I tell the Survivor Castaways who ask me for advice.”

Paolo knows it won’t be easy, especially in showbiz where temptations lurk everywhere. And he knows it.

“I stopped hearing Mass when I entered showbiz in 1996,” Paolo reveals.

But he also knows not all showbiz folk have closed their hearts and minds. Paolo proudly says he has managed to win over friends like Tim Yap over to his side.

Paolo must have shown Tim and others how this way of looking at things enriched his life.

“After Extra Challenge, I had a bout of depression. I didn’t have any program at all. And I prayed for a big project to come my way,” he recalls.

He knew that was asking for the moon. How can you top GMA 7’s number one reality show from 2003 to 2006?

But lo and behold! GMA 7 offered him the hosting job of Survivor Philippines (its grand finale is on Friday, Dec. 12).

“Survivor is a breakthrough,” he gushes. “It’s bigger than I thought it is.”

It was also a humbling experience for someone who has grown used to personal assistants. Like the Castaways, Paolo stayed in an island for 45 days. He shared living quarters with just an electric fan to keep them cool with three other people. They shared the same bathroom in the wildlife preserve.

Before cameras start grinding, Paolo attended production meetings and helped lug production equipment in various spots all over the island. Extra help was as scarce as the amenities.

But Paolo didn’t mind. He has learned to embrace simple living a year ago. He has traded his luxurious BMW for an Innova. And he doesn’t miss the BMW at all.

When he gets married, Paolo doesn’t dream of living in a big house in a subdivision. A small condo unit would be enough for him and Abby.

His other plans are not that simple, though. The guy clearly doesn’t put all his eggs in one basket.

Paolo just added two new companies on his list of business. Xinapse is a software company based in Greenhills while Xage deals on integrated technology. Paolo is also CEO of Esthetica Dental Center and Mindgram; president of Arrow Home Vis-Min and proprietor of Red Eye Studios.

On the drawing board are a hosting seminar for aspiring hosts, a hosting manual and a birthday special. The special will showcase Paolo’s musical and interviewing skills.

Paolo also dreams of working with Richard Gutierrez on TV and Sharon Cuneta, Richard Gomez and Bong Revilla on film.

If he has his way, Paolo’s next 10 years in showbiz will not just bring him more projects. They will also bring more of his colleagues closer to the Source of it all. Then Paolo would be happier, and everything for him, would be worth it.

What 'secret' is Marky bringing to his grave?

A hero’s welcome today is scheduled not only for Manny Pacquiao who’s coming home victorious from Las Vegas after beating Mexico’s Oscar dela Hoya in a non-title bout last Saturday, Dec. 7 (Saturday, Dec. 6 US Time), but also for Marky Cielo who’s making his final trip to Sitio Bauco, Benguet, Mountain Province, three days after he was found dead at his home in Mission Hills, Antipolo City, only a few minutes before Dela Hoya threw in the towel at Round 9.

Never have the two faces of showbiz — one triumphant and the other tragic — been so graphically depicted.

Pacquiao will come home with hands raised, waving at his fans while Marky, who is pure Igorot, will go home inside a coffin with a glass top that allows a full view of his body clad in a violet turtle-necked sweatshirt and the black suit that he wore when he won as the Sole Survivor of the 2005 (third edition) of the GMA reality-TV talent search StarStruck where he was known as The New Bad Boy of the Dancefloor after his predecessor, Mark Herras.

Pacquiao drew a collective roar of approval from his kababayan here and in Filipino communities around the world while Marky left a big question mark with his untimely demise. At 20 (last May 12, Taurus), Marky had the world ahead of him. It was within grabbing distance. When he died, he was in the cast of the GMA soaps La Lola, after having just finished Asero (topbilled by Richard Gutierrez). His other shows were Zaido, the Struck Attack portion of Startalk, Enkantadia, Fantastic Kids Love2Love and Bakekang.

There was no premonition at all — or was there?

Those close to Marky recalled that on Saturday night, he was with friends at an Internet café along Tomas Morato Avenue, Quezon City, crying while talking to an unidentified caller on his cell phone. Who was he talking to? Nobody knew; Marky didn’t tell anybody who. There was a report that Marky made several unanswered (desperate?) calls to his manager-mentor who, unfortunately, was sleeping too soundly to call back. What did Marky want to tell him, something “urgent?” And also, Marky was said to have had a heart-to-heart talk with his mother who said in a TV newscast that it was about “something personal” and who was quoted to have advised Marky to “face it” like a man, “Lutasin mo ang problema mo; ikaw lang ang makakalutas n’yan.”

And what were the “death threats” Marky was reported to be receiving, and from whom?

According to another report, mother and son were scheduled to attend a charity project that Sunday morning and the mother wondered why he was taking time to fix himself. And when she opened the door, she was shocked to find Marky unconscious (“nakahandusay,” said the official GMA statement). He was declared DOA (Dead On Arrival) at a nearby hospital.

Marky will be laid to rest on Tuesday, Dec. 16, at the back of their house in Sitio Batcu, according to Igorot tradition, bringing to his grave a “secret” that perhaps the world will never know. Not now, not yet, anyway.

Marky Cielo sa Mountain Province ililibing

BIGLAAN ang pagkamatay ni Marky Cielo nitong Linggo ng umaga sa kanilang bahay sa Mission Hills, Antipolo City.

Natagpuan siya ng kanyang ina na walang buhay ganap na ika-6 ng umaga. Dinala kaagad siya sa hospital, pero huli na at pumanaw siya dakong alas-10 ng umaga.

Kahapon (Dec. 8), nasabi ng mother ng aktor kay Carmina Villarroel na may ipinagtapat si Marky na isang mabigat na problema noong gabi bago siya namatay. Payo raw ng ina kay Marky kinakailangang harapin nito nang maa-yos ang problema and face the consequence.

Ayaw sabihin ng mo-ther ni Marky kay Carmina kung ano ang problemang ‘yon ni Marky na maaaring isa sa mga dahilan ng kanyang ma-agang pagkamatay. Very personal daw kasi.

Kahapon (Dec.7) ay agad pumunta sa bahay ng pamilya ni Marky ang dalawang executives ng GMA-7 na sina Lilybeth Resonable, assistant vice president for entertainment drama at Yda Henares, head ng Artist Center ng network.

Kasalukuyang luma-labas si Marky sa soap na LaLola bilang ka-love team ni Lovi Poe.

Sa interview ng Sis host na sina Janice at Gelli de Belen, nasabi ni Lovi na may charity work sila ni Marky. Dapat ay magkasama raw sila nitong Sunday morning.

‘Di dumating si Marky at may nagsabing na-ospital ito. Later, ibinalita sa kanya na patay na ang kanyang leading man. Noon na raw humagulhol ng iyak si Lovi. Bago pa dumating ang kabaong na paglalagakan ng mga labi ni Marky, nasa hospital na siya para makiramay sa mga naulila ng aktor.

Ayon pa sa mother ng yumaong aktor, dadalhin sa Mountain Province ang bangkay nito sa Wednesday (Dec. 10) ng madaling araw.

Ibuburol sa bahay ng kanyang lolo, at doon na sa bayan nila sa Mt. Pro-vince ililibing si Marky.

Nitong Linggo ng ha-pon, nagkaroon ng seremonya ang mga kamag-anak ni Marky sa Mt. Pro-vince. Nagsunog sila ng baboy bilang alay sa pag-yao ng kababayan nilang magaling at napakabait na artista.

SOBRANG lungkot din ang nadama ng program manager ng GMA-7 na si Rams David nang mabalitaan niya ang pagkamatay ni Marky Cielo.

Magkasama pa sila nito na tumanggap from Star Awards for TV ng parangal na Best Youth Oriented Program para sa kani-lang nakaraang show na Boys Next Door.

Si Marky ang isa sa mga pangunahing characters ng Sunday afternoon soap ng Kapuso network.

Nitong Monday ng gabi, naka-schedule sina Marky na mag-guest sa Walang Tulugan hos-ted by German Moreno at para na rin mag-taping ng special show para sa birthday ng Birhen ng Manaoag.

Maraming magagandang sinabi ang mga ka-samahan ni Marky tung-kol sa yumaong aktor. Lahat ay nagsasabing sobrang bait ni Marky. Professio-nal sa kanyang trabaho at friendly sa lahat.

Sa amin ding entertainment reporters ay napakabait ni Marky. Hindi niya kami nakaliligtaang batiin kapag kanyang nakakasalubong saan mang lugar.

They will miss Marky Cielo

As Filipinos rejoiced over Manny Pacquiao’s win against Oscar De la Hoya last Sunday, showbiz was grieving due to the sudden demise of former StarStruck Ultimate Sole Survivor Batch 3 Marky Cielo. This also shocked his family, friends and fans. Mark’s mom Mildred found her eldest son dead in his room at their Mission Hills, Antipolo residence at 6 a.m. Mildred rushed Mark at the Antipolo Doctors’ Hospital but the doctors declared him dead on arrival at 10 a.m.

His remains lie at the Cielos’ house in Antipolo. It will be brought to his hometown in Benguet.

Marky’s acting and dancing skills endeared him to the public. It was not surprising why he starred on Fantastikids, Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan, Kaputol ng Isang Awit, S.O.P and Startalk’s Struckatak. His amiable personality and wholesome image helped him become the role model of young people and Department of Health’s Youth Spokesperson.

Now that he’s gone, many couldn’t help but reminisce the good old days they spent with Marky. Among them are his fellow StarStruck graduates who have grown with Marky on and off camera.

Their thoughts:

Iwa Moto — “He was a great person and always smiling. I had never seen him frowning nor getting mad. He was also funny kasi everytime na kausap mo siya parang laging late mag-sink in sa kanya yung sinasabi mo. He was professional and a brother to us. He will stay alive in our heart.”

Gian Carlos — “I don’t just consider him a friend but a brother as well. First day pa lang ng StarStruck days namin, magkaibigan na kami. He is the godfather of my child. ‘Pag naaalala ko siya, puro masasayang moments namin ang naaalala ko. I will miss Boknoy (Marky’s nickname) as a true friend.”

Rhea Nakpil — “He is my Papa Bear. He has always been the Golden Boy of our batch. He was humble and cheerful. What I like about him is that he never changed a bit given his popularity. What I can never forget about him is when I asked a favor from him about my school project. He helped me with open heart. He would always find time (to his friends) even if he was busy. He remains my Papa Bear and me, his bear. Our leader and brother will always stay forever in our heart. We love you Boknoy.”

Arci Muñoz — “His personality reflects every action he does. He was very persistent, caring, fun to be with but very deep. He was the kind of person you cannot easily read. When we were doing Startalk Struckatak with Chuck (Allie), he would untie my shoe lace after I just tied it. He would burp ABCs in front of my face and dance his favorite robot moves. But after our shot, he would throw at me a can of Coke Light and say, ‘Sorry kung in-untie ko ang shoe lace mo kanina.’ I called him kuya during our Starstruck competition. I’d stay in a corner and try to draw and he’d approach me to ask if he could draw on my pad as well. He made me a layout of Wolverine. I still have it with me. He also knew how to touch everyone’s heart with just a smile.”

Vaness del Moral — He was down-to-earth, caring, loving, patient. He was a good son. I will never forget our tawagan as Lakay and Baket. You would never hear him complain nor say negative things about anyone.

NAHALUAN ng lungkot at pagkabigla ang panonood namin ng Pacquiao-Dela Hoya fight kahapon nang tanungin kami ng aming kapitbahay kung totoong sumakabilang-buhay na ang young actor na si Marky Cielo.

Tinext daw kasi siya ng pamangkin niyang kapitbahay nina Marky sa Mission Hills, Antipolo City, at sinabing pumanaw na nga ang StarStruck 3 discovery.

Sa pagtse-check sa People’s Tonight sources, nakumpirma namin ang balita, although ang unang pasabi, ayaw pang magbigay ng pahayag ng pamilya ukol sa maagang pagkamatay ni Marky.

Dagdag na tsika pa ng pamangkin ng kapitbahay namin, narinig nilang sumisigaw ang ina ng actor na si Mildred bandang alas-nuwebe ng umaga.

Nakita rin daw nilang itinatakbo si Marky ng mga magulang sa ospital at pagbalik, may dala-dala nang barong ang ina ng actor.

Base sa sketchy details na natanggap namin, bangungot umano ang sinasabi ng pamilya na dahilan ng pagpanaw ng 20-year-old actor.

Pero dahil tikom ang bibig nila at tumangging magbigay ng pahayag sa press, hindi tuloy ma-verify kung true ang umiikot na balitang may suicide note na nakita sa banyo kung saan natagpuang nakahandusay si Marky.

Wala ring direktang sagot na maibigay ang ilang sources na pinagtanungan ng People’s Tonight.

Kaya, hiningan namin ng pahayag ang GMA Artist Center, talent arm ng GMA-7 at nagma-manage sa career ni Marky. Narito ang kabuuan ng GMAAC statement: “Bandang alas-10 kaninang umaga (meaning, kahapon), sa Antipolo Doctors Hospital, dineklarang DOA ang young actor at StarStruck Nationwide Invasion Sole Survivor na si Marky Cielo.

“Ayon sa paunang salaysay ng kanyang ina na si Mildred Cielo, natagpuan niyang nakahandusay ang kanyang panganay na anak sa kanilang tahanan sa Antipolo, Rizal, at agad niya itong isinugod sa ospital.

“Sa ngayon, hinihintay pa nila ang resulta ng imbestigasyon ng sanhi ng pagpanaw ni Marky bago magbigay ng opisyal na pahayag.”

Ang pamilya Cielo ay tubong-Mountain Province at may lahing Igorot.

Napamahal si Marky sa mga tagahanga dahil sa kanyang maamong mukha, mahusay na pag-arte at pagsayaw.

Huli siyang napanood sa Startalk, SOP at La Lola. Siya rin ang tumatayong youth spokesperson ng DoH.

“Bukod sa mga panalangin, humihiling ang pamilya Cielo ng privacy sa matinding dagok na ’to sa kanilang buhay,” nakasaad pa sa GMAAC statement.

Ang mga labi ng aktor ay nakalagak sa St. Peter’s Chapel sa Quezon Ave., QC.
