Marian, Dennis, Iwa at Rich, sinuportahan si Wilma

GMA Network Inc. senior vice president for entertainment Wilma Galvante yesterday asked the Quezon City Regional Trial Court to issue an injunction against talent manager Annabelle Rama in order to prevent the latter from publicly harassing her.

Galvante, assisted by her legal counsel, Alfredo Villamor Jr., sought for the injunction when she testified during the hearing on the P7-million damage suit with application for writ of preliminary injunction before the sala of QCRTC Branch 226 Presiding Judge Leah Regala.

During the hearing, which was closed to the media, Villamor said that Galvante testified on what the defendant (Rama) did before the filing of the case and what the defendant has been doing after the filing of the case.

“The nature of the injunction is to prevent the defendant from doing what she’s doing, ’yung publicly harassing, maligning and embarrassing my client,” Villamor explained.

Originally, Galvante sought for the issuance of a temporary restraining order (TRO) to prohibit Rama from approaching and getting near her at a distance of not less than 50 meters and from harassing, intimidating and embarrassing her through granting interviews, organizing or attending press conferences, circulating text messages and communicating with her.

But Villamor said that they already waived the issuance of the TRO for practical reasons.

“If you sought for a TRO, maghe-hearing ka na naman, tapos kukuha ka na naman ng injunction, maghe-hearing ka na naman. Eh, ’yung TRO, good for 20 days only. And we were not expecting naman that this case will be reset on June 26 pa,” Villamor added.

Villamor further disclosed that Galvante would be testifying again on the next hearing since the direct examination and the cross examination were not yet finished.

“Medyo nagahol ang oras ng hearing that’s why Ms. Galvante will be back testifying again,” Villamor said.

He also disclosed that aside from Galvante, members of media who wrote about the controversy between Galvante and Rama would be called on the witness stand in the next hearings.

Rama, on the other hand, did not attend the hearing but was represented by her legal counsel, Agnes Maranan.

Atty. Maranan said that there’s no need for Rama to attend the hearing since it was only an injunction hearing.

Meanwhile, several GMA Artists Center talents, including Marian Rivera, Dennis Trillo, Iwa Moto and Rich Asuncion, also went to the QC Hall of Justice to show support to Galvante.

Galvante filed the damage suit against Rama for uttering various derogatory and spiteful remarks intentionally directed to undermine or even destroy her good standing and reputation.

Galvante asked the court to order Rama to pay the amount of P5 million for moral damages; P1.5 million for exemplary damages and P500,000 for attorney’s fees and cost of suit.

The plaintiff claimed that Rama started the series of tirades against her when she talked to the latter’s talent, actor JC de Vera, after a story conference of the TV series, Obra, last February 16.

Several weeks after filing the damage suit against her, Rama filed charges of grave slander before the QC Prosecutor’s Office against Galvante for allegedly maligning her reputation in front of de Vera.

Galvante, on the other hand, refused to comment on the charges filed against her saying they will answer it once they receive the subpoena from the prosecutor’s office.
