Ilumina to Replace Diva

REPLACING Diva on Monday is “Ilumina”, GMA-7’s new telefantasya with a powerhouse cast led by Christopher de Leon as Frederico, Cesar Montano as Romano, Jean Garcia in the dual role of Elvira and Melina, Ara Mina as Elsa, Rhian Ramos as Romana, Aljur Abrenica as Iñigo, Jackie Rice as Krisanta, Paulo Avelino as Antonio, Jake Vargas as Eliseo, Bea Binene as Evelina, and introducing Lexi, daughter of Maritoni Fernandez.

Directed by Mark Reyes, it’s about black and white sorcerers who compete in possessing the powerful Book of Magic called Ilumina that gives great powers to whoever owns it. Cesar is a simple farmer who, along with wife Ara, gets caught in the fight between good and evil sorcerers. They have conjoined twins, Rhian and Jackie, who get separated. Rhian has telekinetic powers and Jackie becomes envious. Their rivalry becomes more intense when they both fall for Aljur, a rich young man longing for the love of his philantropist dad, Christopher, who paid for the operation that separated Rhian and Jackie.

The mysterious Jean, second wife of Christopher, keeps track of the twin sisters because they might lead her to where the Ilumina or Book of Magic is hidden. One of the twins will join Jean, who turns out to have a secret dark past, while another one will continue to stay good and clean. Filmed with stunning special effects, beautiful sets and costumes and an engrossing story that will keep you hooked from start to end, “Ilumina,” will brighten up your nights starting August 2, after “Endless Love.”
